Dear Dr. and Mrs. Volan:

The very sad and tragic news of Angela's falling asleep in the Lord still rings in my mind, as I know it fills your thoughts and your hearts. No words can express any sort of comfort that would make things easier for you at this time.

I recall one of my past visits to the States and my stopping by your house, where I spent some time with Angela. Although she was troubled by the issues of her health, she still had an aura of peace and tranquility that was evident in her gentle voice. Her pain and problems were hidden by the smile that she shared with others and through this she somehow gave courage to others who might be in pain and suffering. Even in her own difficult times, she thought of the orphans and the poor in Asia. Now they will pray for her, as her own pain and suffering have ended and she has entered eternal life.

Although I am far away and distant, please know that my love and prayers are with you in spirit. Your dear friend, Father Evagoras, is there to offer his paternal care and love, as well as share mine with you. Along with our own love, we offer the love of Christ, Who is the Resurrection and the Life.

May Christ give you strength and peace, so you may face this sad chapter in life. Please know that we will pray for Angela in Hong Kong at every Liturgy, although I believe her innocence, kindness and love far surpassed our poor levels, and these made her truly worthy of the blessings of Christ. She is already in the glory of the light of Christ. May her memory be eternal.

With love,

Fr. Nikitas

"Ζωη σε σας."
